Touching Spirit Bear Homework

Can someone who has committed murder ever by fully trusted again?  Explain why or why not.

It depends on the person.  If you commit murder, you might be recognized for the rest of your life.  There is a possibility that people can change.  Once again, it depends on the person.  I doubt that anyone who commits murder would be fully trusted again. People would probably be afraid of them.  No one who commits a murder would be able to be trusted and treated like a normal citizen.  The police would probably keep an eye on the person who murdered someone.  They would make sure the person doesn’t do it again.  That would make it difficult to live a normal life: being recognized as a criminal.

Why might Circle Justice have worked better for the Native Americans prior to the arrival of Europeans in North America?

Circle justice might have worked better for the Native Americans because they seemed to be more tight-knit.  They also didn’t gain anything from doing a crime.  If someone did commit a crime, it would be something minor like stealing, etc.  It’s also not that the Native Americans didn’t commit murder, or physically hurt someone.  They can also commit crimes such as murder, getting into fight, or anything else physical, or that harms someone or something.  In that way, Circle Justice would work better for the Native Americans.  There were also less Native Americans than there are Europeans in North America.  That makes it easier to create rules, and have everyone follow those rules.
