Ellie I know you're going to read this next time...
Well, Ellie. If you’re reading this, you’re most likely sitting in computer class, fooling around on the computer, am I right? It’s just because Mr. Martin has that funky little plaid hat that makes him not notice that you’re not REALLY doing your school work. Just like he doesn’t have any money for the “Pennies for peace” project. Well, this probably...

Documentary Review
Making history documentaries was very enjoyable. It was a new experience for me, and a very interesting one. I liked narrating sections of the documentary, and editing. Researching was a more tedious process. I feel like a learned a lot about ancient history through this project. The most frustrating part of the project was the recording. We had to re-record many times, and after awhile, I...

CSL CTA 5
http://www.globalissues.org/issue/6/world-hunger-and-poverty
I found this article last week while I was searching for my article for CSL CTA 4. The article is about worldwide hunger and poverty. It mentions how people would like to solve hunger by giving food to everyone in the world. However, that doesn’t work. Because poverty leads to hunger, we should be helping homelessness and...

This article explains about homelessness in America. It mentions drug and alcohol abuse, and mental illness. The article also mentions how the homeless effect the general public. Homelessness is a serious problem in America, and may never be fully taken care of. Even if we gave the homeless (all of the homeless people in America) enough money to live off of, some of them don’t know how...

Thanks for Everything, Rob
Happy teacher appreciation week, Rob! Thank you for teaching me interesting and fascinating things over the course of the year. Thank you for being funny, and for making me laugh. The funniest moment in class was when you drew Tigger and poo, instead of Tigger and Pooh… That was very funny! I had a lot of fun at the end of semester cooking at your house: that was one of my favorite...

SOTKP Reflection
Some of the Kinder Planets is a book with multiple short stories. This book compares to others I have read in a positive way. It seemed like the book had a lot to do with school, and projects: related, or not related to school. My favorite story was ‘Strangers on the Shore’, where two stories eventually clashed. I didn’t think that I would enjoy a book with different ideas...

This article talks about violence and the homeless. It talks about how homeless people are hurt, and some, murdered. One homeless man named John Robert McGraham, was brutally murdered on October 9, 2008. He was doused with gasoline, and then set ablaze. This is the kind of violence that needs to be stopped. Florida has the most recored fatal, and non-fatal attacks against homeless people,...

Life Skills
If you find you are being hard on yourself or notice a friend being too hard on themselves remember that encouraging yourself or someone else is much more helpful than putting someone down. Write about this experience.
I am hard on myself when I have a test coming up. My example is the ISEE test in January that recently happened. I was very nervous about the test, even though I had studied. My...

CSL Weekly call to action
Link: http://www.citizenpolicies.org/articles/endinghunger.html
This is an article that discusses hunger and poverty. It explains that we could possibly give the homeless and the poor money to be able to afford food and shelter. The article then discusses that this might not work because the homeless people might use the money for other things such as drugs, or alcohol. The article also...
ALHOTW Book Review
A Little History of The World, by E. H. Gombrich is a great read all about history. The information is provided in a very different way. The book is in a form of a novel, but has the information of a textbook. The book makes history fun, and more enjoyable to read. The author presents the information in the form of a novel; making it easier to read, and understand. I enjoyed reading the book,...

The Story of Easter and Easter Traditions
Easter is a very commercialized holiday celebrated by Christian and Pagan. Both of these religions have celebrated the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Easter is celebrated on a Sunday, always on various dates. It occurs between March 22 and April 25. Easter always occurs after the Spring Equinox.
The Spring Equinox happens each year on March 20, 21, or 22. Christians and Pagans have...

Where the Wild Things Are
Even though the graphics and effects in this movie look realistic and good, I’m sure that the movie will ruin the book somewhat. Sadly, this movie will not be selling out, and looks like it will ruin the book. I don’t think I will go to see it. Even seeing the preview of it makes me think different from the book. This copy (the movie) will probably scare younger kids more than the...

CSL 5 (ideas)
First idea:
We could donate food or money to a major organization (not St. Vincent De Paul, more like a center that needs the food or money). Although we could donate money to St. Vincent De Paul. We could do a food drive and collect food to give to various organizations. We could donate money, like the last year’s sixth grade class. If we did that, it would not be as original.

What is Art? (first draft)
Art comes from the imagination.
It isn’t always what people think of,
A brush and paint isn’t always art.
Art is all around us,
We see it every day.
Everything you make,
Is Art.
Everyone has the ability to create,
And that’s all art is.
The ability to create.
The ability to draw, sculpt, and, paint.
Art is you,
It’s not always paint, or pen,
It can simply be color.
When you...

Touching Spirit Bear Homework
Can someone who has committed murder ever by fully trusted again? Explain why or why not.
It depends on the person. If you commit murder, you might be recognized for the rest of your life. There is a possibility that people can change. Once again, it depends on the person. I doubt that anyone who commits murder would be fully trusted again. People would probably be afraid of them. No one...
